Mid-Century Master Bathroom
Heated floors, Kohler designer fixtures and floor to ceiling individually laid hand made soft pink tile invite you into this luxurious bathroom true to the epoch of the home's original construction date. A curbless entry into the shower, curved custom glass and a large niche in the shower are details that set this bathroom above the ordinary. Opposite of the shower is a large freestanding soaker tub which enjoys views from the 6' window and storage above on a wall length tiled shelf and custom white ash floating shelves. Over 300 custom hand beveled tile edges by the tile setter on site make up all outside corners -- the soldier-laid tile patterns flawlessly flow through the space- no tacky trim interruptions in this bathroom.
Staircase of Death Transformation
Have you ever climbed a ladder? - That is how one would describe "climbing" the staircase to the second floor in this Lafayette Square adjacent home (13" tall and only 7" deep steps - scary). We put the old staircase in the dumpster, knocked out some ceiling beams, and added a new staircase with landing to achieve more proper sized steps. As good as new! Surrounding the staircase we added traditional nickel board, painstakingly tuck-pointed the remaining half of the stairwell, and added recessed lighting. One of our favorite functional transformations for sure!
Also in this space we transformed a dank dropped ceiling cave into a bright and airy dining room, replicating original building styles and exposing some beautiful brick in the process.
Bohemian Style Powder Room
Designed and expertly wallpapered by the very talented @rmmansker, this powder room was a pleasure to construct. It was formally a full bathroom with a shower but we shrunk the space to add room for an adjacent master bathroom not pictured. Bathed in light from a new 6' tall black window, bold wallpaper backdrops high-end finishes by Kohler and a floating concrete sink - this little space seriously stuns!
